Welcome To Our Ski Test

Now in our third year, we’ve really started to hit our stride. By bringing back a lot of the same testers, we are able to get more and better feedback than ever before, all with the intention and hope of putting out the best, unbiased, and most objective information in the ski world. As with previous years, the 2020 test takes a few steps forward in terms of skis tested, brands, testers, and test days. By adding three new companies and an extra day for yet more information, we’ve increased our data by quite a bit. New and better videos and pictures will accompany our writeups, all in the desire to match you up with your perfect ski. As with years past, our testers scored each ski on a scale of 1-5 for certain performance characteristics. The comments section of our writeup is where the tester’s impression of a ski really comes alive, and we’ve done our best to capture the essence of each individual ski.

Here at SkiEssentials.com we do not believe that there are good skis and bad skis, just the ski that is right for you. That’s the whole purpose of this test. We’re not ranking skis from best to worst or saying that one ski is better than another. We try our best to offer unbiased, objective information describing the feel, character, and overall nature of the ski and for whom it would be best suited.

The results are broken down both by category and by manufacturer. Our hope is that the feedback from our third annual Ski Test guides you towards your new skis, but do not hesitate to leave a comment or question at the bottom of the test page. And as always, feel free to contact us at SkiEssentials.com to talk to a skier. We are already looking forward to next year’s test and we hope you enjoy the results of the test as you gear up for the 2020 ski season. Have fun!
