We are incredibly excited to present our second annual SkiEssentials.com Ski Test! Our first go at it last year was a huge success and we did our best to build on that and incorporate a few new things as well. This year, we increased our products tested, number of testers, and added a bunch more videos than last year. We had 46 testers this year reviewing 149 different pairs of skis from 15 manufacturers over the 2 day test. Each tester filled out a results form for each ski where they scored it on a scale of 1-5 for certain performance characteristics. Additionally, the testers had an open space in which to describe who the ski is suited for, the strengths and weaknesses of the ski, and any additional comments they felt were pertinent to the test. We collected around 650 test forms, sifted through the information and compiled it in a readable, relatable, and user friendly manner in the hopes of letting you find the perfect ski for your ability and style.
Here at SkiEssentials.com we do not believe that there are good skis and bad skis, just the ski that is right for you. That’s the whole purpose of this test. We’re not ranking skis from best to worst or saying that one ski is better than another. We try our best to offer unbiased, objective information describing the feel, character, and overall nature of the ski and for whom it would be best suited.
The results are broken down both by category and by manufacturer. Our hope is that the feedback from our second annual Ski Test guides you towards your new skis, but do not hesitate to leave a comment or question at the bottom of the test page.
