We are extremely pleased to present the first annual SkiEssentials.com Ski Test! We gathered a total of 38 testers over three days at Stowe Mountain Resort made up of our staff, local rippers, and industry professionals. These 38 skiers tested over 120 different skis from 14 different manufacturers. Each tester filled out a results form for each ski where they were asked to score it on a 1-5 scale for certain performance characteristics. We also asked each tester to characterize the strengths and weaknesses, let us know what type of skier they think the ski would be best for, and anything else they wanted to tell us in an open ended format. We had a total of 520 completed test forms! That’s a lot of feedback.
Here at SkiEssentials.com we don’t believe there is a single best ski, rather that everyone is different and has their own unique set of demands and expectations for their skis. Because of this you won’t find the results in our Ski Test listed in order of best to worst. You won’t find us saying one ski is better than another. You will, on the other hand, see a lot of objective information describing the feel of each ski and what type of skier it would be best for.
The results are broken down both by category and by manufacturer. We hope the feedback from our Ski Test helps guide you towards your new skis, but as always don’t hesitate to leave comments or contact us if you have any questions. We will continue to grow our Ski Test in coming years, but without further ado, here are the results from the 2018 SkiEssentials.com Ski Test!
